Old Fashion Bran Muffins from Lorain Glawe

1 c. All Bran Cereal (Kellogg)

¾ c. milk

1 egg

¼ c. shortening

1 c. flour

2 ½ t. baking powder

1/2 t. salt

¼ c. sugar

1. Use small mixer bowl. Combine All Bran and milk, let stand until most of the mixture is taken up. Add egg and shortening. Beat well with had mixer.

2. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together on wax paper. Add to first mixture, stirring only to combine.

3. Fill greased pans or paper liners 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 8 muffins.
