Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 ¼ cup flour

¼ teaspoon baking soda

1 stick of butter, softened

1 stick of margarine, softened

1 cup sugar

½ cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

1 Tablespoon heavy cream

2 cups chocolate chips

1 cup pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread out pecans on a cookie sheet and toast them in the preheating oven for about 5 minutes. Onto a sheet of wax paper, sift flour and baking soda. In a large bowl cream butters and sugars. Beat in vanilla, egg, and cream until just blended. Fold in flour mixture, chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by large spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are slightly brown.
