PHILOSOPHY:
At Hand-in-Hand we strive to provide a well rounded atmosphere where children's emotional, social, cognitive and physical needs are met.
GOALS:
Mother's Day Out - 2-3 Years:
Our main goal for this young age group is to make them feel comfortable away from home, in a school setting. We will work on large and small motor skills, language
development and color recognition.
Preschool - 3 -4 Years:
We will work with this group on lengthening their attention span, recognition of numbers and letters, science, math, language development and definition of motor skills.
Pre-Kindergarten:
We will meet the very important challenge of preparing these children for Kindergarten. Math, science, eye-hand coordination and sequencing are just a few of the skills
these children will begin to master.
STATE LICENSE:
Hand-in-Hand is licensed by the state. We operate to meet or exceed minimum standards for child care. These standards relate to our facility, staff, health and safety
procedures, nutrition, ratios and record keeping. State and city health, fire and licensing offices routinely inspect our center.
ENROLLMENT:
Hand-in-Hand is open to any child between the ages of and school age. Class assignment is determined by the child's age on September 1.
For your child's safety and to comply with state regulations all enrollment forms must be completed and on file before admission.
RATIOS:
Mother's Day Out - 2-3 Years: 2 staff / 10 children
Preschool- Pre-Kindergarten: 1 staff / 10 children
HELPING HANDS:
Hand-in-Hand is not operated as a co-operative. However, we welcome and encourage participation in the program by sharing your time, talent, and suggestions. Together we
can enjoy caring for our future leaders.
MANAGING BEHAVIOR:
The behavior guidance techniques used by the staff will center around positive reinforcement, positive role modeling by adults, intervention techniques, and redirection.
PORTFOLIOS/CONFERENCES:
Samples of the children's work is kept in portfolios and shared with parents during conferences in December and May. These portfolios are intended to go with the child to
Kindergarten.
