GROWTH AND SERVICES MINISTRIES
Growth and Services Ministries seek to reach out to others by inviting them to become a part of our community and once a part of our community to help, support and integrate into our ministry. Growth and Services Ministries provide an open doorway so that people can find a church and thereby sense God's call to a deepening level of commitment within the
church through holistic stewardship.
PURPOSE
To reach out and welcome the un-churched and inactive. Also, to conduct a holistic stewardship program that invites people to a deeper understanding of stewardship through the sharing of their gifts of time, talents and money.
ACTIVITIES
. To seek and encourage connections in the community to introduce others to Ascension and as appropriate to invite them to participate in the life of our congregation
. Community Visitation teams (I.e. UT Bus Stop Outreach)
. Welcome team to receive visitors and who will share cookies, congregational information and a, friendly personal touch
. Recruit and train worship greeters
. Advertise special events, festival events, and worship services in the community and invite people to participate
. Assimilate new members by helping them "connect" and find a place in the life
of the congregation
. Coordinate volunteers by matching their unique gifts to specific ministries in the congregation and community where they might serve
. Celebrate ministries in daily life, the ways and places that others live out their Christian calling every day
. Conduct a year-round program of holistic stewardship education and ingathering
. Facility Use (10% of building use and maintenance expenses)
. Pastoral Leadership-10% of time
. Secretary Support-1 0% of time
Growth and Services Ministries
To "do" these ministries in 2003 will cost $16,300 (8.4% of budget).
To conduct th,ese ministries in 2003 we will need 32 persons to give leadership.
