EQUIPPING MINISTRIES
Equipping ministries prepare people of all ages for lives of faith and disci- pleship through faith growth and learning opportunities. In these Christian formation experiences we seek to "equip" people of all ages to go into a hurting world to skillfully "do ministry" and share Christ's love.
PURPOSE
I
To direct the process of Christian formation, faith development and growth in spirituality in the congregation.
ACTIVITIES
. Sunday Church School for Children (25 children)
. Sunday Adult Education Groups (35 adults)
. Teacher recruitment, training support, recognition (10 teachers)
. Educational Curriculum and supplies L~j . Children's Chapel
. "Rite of Passage" Events for children (First Bible Presentation, First Communion, Confirmation, Graduation)
. Provide opportunities for spiritual growth among adults as they continue to grow in God's grace
. Provide opportunities for gift discernment/assessment within the congregation
. Leadership Training Workshops for Congregational leaders
. Parenting Workshops (Family Communications, Building Self Image)
. Vacation Bible School (33 children, 10 teachers)
. Confirmation Ministry (Materials, retreats, camp)
. Hand in Hand Christian Day School (36 children, 6 teachers, 76 parents)
. Retreats for families and adults
. Residence Youth Camping (participation/scholarships) (3 youth)
. Facility Use (15% of building use and maintenance expenses)
. Seminarian Residence Scholarship
. Pastoral Leadership-15% of time
. Secretarial Support-15% of time
Equipping Ministries
To "do" these ministries in 2003 will cost $24,300 (12.6% of budget).
To Conduct these ministries in 2003 we need 53 persons to give leadership.
