Ascension members have an ongoing ministry helping the patients at the
Texas Oncology Cancer Center* near us. This is our good neighbor outreach as well.
On the first Wednesday of the month, someone from Ascension bakes four dozen cookies or more and delivers them on two plates to the cancer center receptionist. The cookies are
for the patients, families and friends of patients in the two reception areas of the cancer center.
Also, we have ladies who launder blankets for the cancer center. Sometimes we send our left over flower arrangements down there if they are in good condition. In the past they have used our parking lot for
special occasions.
Anyone wishing to join the cookie baking crowd can let me know and I'll put them on the list.
