MINISTRY OF ADMINISTRATION
Business Administration is crucial to having a well operated and responsive congregation. Office systems, budget development and control, safety, facility care, effective communications and management of volunteers and lay ministers are critical to effective ministry. Administering the resources God has given us as a congregation in people, facilities and money is a ministry with which God entrusts us. How we approach this particular ministry is a statement of our faith. (At present, the key facilities component of our Ministry of Administration is overseen by our Church Building Committee.)
PURPOSE
To institute business office systems; provide office equipment and supplies, ensure the care and maintenance of facilities; coordinate parish communication; monitor safety standards; develop and supervise the parish budget and monitor financial affairs (insurance, etc.)
ACTIVITIES
. Provide for an office center that coordinates member needs and programs
. Maintain office records; reports and document preparation; bookkeeping, congregational archives
. Budget preparation, reporting and control
. Pay bills and maintain accounting records
. Volunteer management/coordination
. Coordinate and prepare congregational communications (Accents, bulletin boards other information sources)
. Custodial Services (100%)
. Director of Volunteer Management (volunteer)
. Facility Use (10% of building use and maintenance expenses)
. Pastoral Leadership-10% of time
. Secretarial Support-10% of time
Ministry of Administration
To "do" these ministries in 2003 will cost $27,700 (14.4% of budget).
To conduct these ministries in 2003 we will need 22 persons to give leadership.
